Wedge Insertion attachment (Irrigation & Drainage)

The groundsman model TC HYD Turf Multi Cutter is the top of the range Pedestrian Operated Turf Cutter. It has a Hydrostatic Ground Drive giving variable speed forward reverse and rapid transport. The Cutter Blade can be disengaged. Groundsman have developed this model to perform Trenching operations as well as the regular Turf Cutting functions.

The Trenching function requires a very high traction to weight ratio. This has been achieved by incorporating a hydrostatic drive which allows the operator much more control to feed the power to all four wheels without slip or spin. Knock-on wheel weights can be attached to the front wheels to increase grip without adversely effecting the operators ability to manoeuvre the machine. A differential has been incorporated for easy turning.

In addition to accepting the full range of Groundsman Turf Cutter Blades, a Wedge Blade Trenching System has been developed specifically for this machine. This system can insert Pipe from an attached Reel or Materials from a Hopper to a depth of 120mm (5") with minimum surface disruption. A spring loaded vibrating roller is incorporated to close the trench and level the surface.

MANOUVREING

Lower right picture shows the Wedge Blade in the raised out of work position at the end of the run.The double axle and rear blade mounting enables the blade to clear the ground.

The machine remains well balanced and can be tilted onto a nose roller for easy manoeuvring

DISRUPTION

Lower left picture shows the grass surface after dripper feed irrigation pipe has been inserted 30cm apart 12cm deep. There is very little disruption and no cleanup. After two weeks there is little trace of the trenches.
