TCCO Guillotine Chop-off impresses Isle of Man turf grower.

In September 2007 when Chris Clarke pictured right, of Garden World in the Isle of Man needed to replace his old trusty Turf Cutter he had used for many years on his Turf Farm he searched the internet turned up the Groundsman Industries site. So important and specialised was this piece of kit that Chis boarded a plane and flew to the facory in N.Ireland to check it out. After a tour of the factory and it's in-house research and development facility where the machine was designed, Chris tested the unit in some fine and some very rough turf. Numbers were crunched over a bite to eat and a deal was struck. Chis took delivery of the machine two weeks later. Groundsman Industries are a relatively small company who like the personal touch and some follow- up emails revealed that Chis was not disappointed with his purchase. We enjoyed meeting Chris, he has a quiet but very thorough approach and it would be my guess that if you need some very well nurtured and nicely cut sod to re-turf your garden, sports facility or estate, you could do a lot worse than look at what Garden World in the Isle of Man has to offer.

BTME exhibition Jan 2007

New innovations from Groundsman and a glimpse inside the company at BTME 2007 by Billy Warke owner and designer of the Groundsman range.

Groundsman Industries are regular exhibitors at the BTME exhibition in Harrogate England.

This year from the 23rd to the 25th of January 2007 Groundsman had on display our latest innovations.

The time proven Tractor Mounting 8120 and 12180 Aerators and FCC Flex blade Core Collector attachment, clearly visible and which always takes pride of place on the stand, what can we say about that piece of kit except until you use it, you won't believe how well this simple system works. In all conditions, even in torrential rain, this attachment collects cores clean as a whistle before they get wet on the ground.

Incidentally, seated in the background above is Rob Gallagher, owner of the Foyle Golf Center in Co Derry in N. Ireland. Rob was probably working on some figures because at the exhibition he traded his faithful six year old Groundsman 8120CTM 1.2 metre Turf Aerator and FCC8 Collector for another one only wider, the Groundsman 12180TM 1.8 met re Turf Aerator and FCC12 Flex blade Collector.

By customer demand, Groundsman have made this patented system available as a stand alone implement for three point linkage on a compact tractor or Turf Vehicle such as Toro Workman. The tipping ram is used to raise the implement to dump.

Major advancements have been made in Groundsman's Turf Cutter range. You could coin the old pun, the best just got better! The latest in flat toothed belt technology has now been incorporated, TCDRB four wheel drive turf cutter has been increased from 5.5 to 6.5 HP engine and extra discs fitted in the ground drive clutch to cope. The TCSRB single axle drive Turf Cutter has been introduced specifically for the Landscaping and Hire markets. This machine uses the same low maintenance toothed flat belt crank drive and central con-rod blade drive technology as the highly successful TCDRB but the price has been trimmed by removing features that are not required in that industry, such as micro fine depth adjustment.

We also had our range of Pedestrian Turf Aerators including the remarkable 345 range which have carved a niche and a reputation over the years in Cricket, Bowls, Golf, and rougher grass applications like pitches, parkland and domestic gardens. These machines use Groundsman's modular elliptical plunge action crank cassette mechanism which can take the punishment they will receive in this range of applications with very little maintenance. Groundsman have available a vast range of Tines and holders for every application.

Notice the many compact portable video screens placed one by each piece of kit running a dedicated repeat video presentation. We have used again to great effect these self powered video screens which are Groundsman's own patented design and introduced for BTME 2006.
