The Groundsman 8120CTM pictured is a machine with an excellent track record. It can Aerate down to 13cm depth and collect it's own cores with the Groundsman Flexblade Collector System. November 02, 2005 - Woodlands Golf Club

The continued emergence of the Groundsman TCDRB34 Turf Cutter as a market leader has been emphasised recently in Co Kildare. The Woodlands Golf Club under the guidance of Head Green keeper Anthony Tracey, has just taken delivery of a Turf Cutter with a 16" blade. In fact this became the third in a matter of weeks to be sold within a 4 kilometre square area around Naas, quite an achievement. Other delighted recipients were, Carl Dooley Landscaper, and Ted Johnson, Naas construction equipment dealer. Not bad for a targeted approach one could say. Look out for more sales of this excellent product in the Dublin area.

September 05, 2005 - Saltex Exhibition Review

Saltex once again enjoyed a week of fine warm weather. The atmosphere was relaxed and casual on the combined stand with manufacturers Groundsman Industries, Ultra Spreader and Locke Mowers teamed up with their English distributor Synergy Products Ltd. to provide the usual hospitality of snacks and beverages. Groundsman had their tried and tested range of pedestrian and tractor Turf Aerators on demonstration which are always sure to attract a flow of new along with the regular existing customers for an update on the equipment and accessories and a bit of 'crack'.

The latest innovation from Groundsman is a special version of their new range of Turf Multi Cutter machines. The new machine incorporates a hydrostatic drive set up to deliver superb traction to weight performance for trenching operations as well as Turf Cutting. A prototype of this new model was on display with an attachment for inserting dripper feed tubing for irrigation. A special blade system was developed for this purpose. Feed back was encouraging from places like Greece and Spain as you would expect but also the UK which wasn't expected. An adoption of this new blade principal is also available to insert sand and gravel into the trench with the hose reel being swapped for a hopper. Their will be more exciting news about this project in the near future, we will keep you posted.

Some photos to follow very soon.

A pleasant surprise was arranged behind the scenes by Dave Meharg of Synergy Product when a river boat was chartered on the first evening of the exhibition. All the guys on the stand and about twenty invited guests enjoyed a trip through some lovely landscape with exclusive homes, millionaires row I think they called it. An upper deck barbeque and lower deck bar formed the catalyst for a superb evening which cumulated with a rendition of song and guitar from Billy Warke of Groundsman Industries exposing his hippy past.

Kevin Gates of Ultra Spreader added the Irish traditional flavour with some excellent story telling songs he had tucked up his sleeve somewhere, in his own amiable fashion of course. Dave Meharg of Synergy Products was then drawn into the fray when he couldn't resist a flash back to his past with a rugby song he just about remembered. The icing was added to the cake when the young lady who had been so dutiful all evening behind the bar joined in and put all to shame with some beautifully performed ballads of her own.

August 24, 2005 - Launch of the new Groundsman Industries website

The all new Groundsman Industries website has a wealth of information about the company its products and a guide to their application. The site has taken many months of preparation GROUNDSMAN believe it is state of the art and portrays Groundsman Industries on the world stage as a company at the cutting edge of technology.

The look has been changed completely, the new theme is very much ‘grass’, pleasant to look at and easy to navigate. It is constructed in layers commencing with overviews but always with the ability to get in or out of more in-depth technical information and specifications. The site has features such as ‘Download Video Clips’ ‘Enlarge This Picture’ ‘Print This Brochure’ ‘ and of course ‘Enquire about this Product’ or ‘Leave your Details’ so obviously simple.

The aeration quick guide section is an example of the well researched information which is useful to existing Groundsman machinery owners and potential customers alike. It covers all surfaces from fine turf to football pitches.

July 18, 2005 - The power of the internet

The power of the Internet was illustrated with the first sale of a Goundsman TCDRB Turf Cutter last week to a distributor in Libia, North Africa. The search engine located the Groundsman product at 10am, a telephone conversation followed between Billy Warke proprietor of Groundsman Industries and Mr El-Turki a Libian importer and by 3pm the machine was purchased and funds transferred.

May 31, 2005 - BTME Sees the Dramatic Launch of a New Groundsman Product

The scenario was very much “will it make it, or won't it", at the BIGGA show at Harrogate recently.
Groundsman Industries had a sense of anticipation on its stand at Harrogate, amidst the gleaming machines was a brown cloth draped over Groundsman's latest product.

Billy Warke had worked literally around the clock on the lead up to Harrogate. All that was required was a telephone call from the Patents Office to ensure Billy's latest sensation was properly registered. At 2.30pm the telephone call came through and Billy snatched the cloth away and the DRB34 was introduced to the Groundcare market in a flash of cameras from the trade press, which had assembled eagerly awaiting what Groundsman proclaim to be a "world beater". So in a dramatic day the DRB34 was launched at BIGGA 2004.
The DRB34 does have all the trademark Groundsman strong points well engineered, user friendly and extremely robust.

The main features of the DRB34 are the rear mounted interchangeable blades, so the end user has a choice of 12", 14", 16", or 18" in cut. All the blades can give a precision depth of cut in all terrain from fairway rough to an extreme fine depth on a golf green.

The DRB34 can also be fitted with various attachments such as, a Mole Drain Blade for wet or poorly drained areas, and a soil De-Compaction Blade, which breaks up the soil underneath like a plough but leaves the surface undisturbed.

There was tremendous interest in the DRB34 model at the BIGGA show, indeed the model used was then dispatched to San Diego America, for the GCSAA show there.

Sales Manager Brian Thompson, commented that the DRB34 retains all the good points of the TC300, like balance and fast, smooth operation but with a host of innovative improvements and accessories that give the model an added competitive edge over its rivals. We already have had a substantial number of pre-production orders from the UK, Ireland, Norway and Australia.

Billy Warke has created another market leader with the DRB34 to reinforce the brand value of Groundsman Industries as being one of the leading innovators in the groundcare market.

29 September 2003 - Saltex Exhibition

For the past 10 years Groundsman Industries have been exhibiting at the Saltex Exhibition at Windsor Race Course. Once again this out door event enjoyed glorious weather. This year has to go down as one of the best ever, with the Groundsman product name for performance and durability spreading by referrals in the UK and Irish markets. Good International interest in the products has also been shown and is being followed up.

Chris Greener, Britain's tallest man dropped by the Groundsman stand and is pictured below with Billy Warke (Director, left) and Brian Thompson (Sales & Marketing), fronted with the Groundsman model 345HD Pedestrian Turf Aerator. This highly successful machine is one of 45 chosen by the ECB (English Cricket Board) on its merits for performance, reliability and particularly its ability to punch into the hardest surface in the industry, 'cricket wickets.'

14 April 2003 - Open day at Groundsman Industries

Turf aerator specialists Groundsman Industries welcomed guests from across the UK to the official opening of its new factory in Ballymoney, Northern Ireland.
Following the move to the new site in early January, Peter Craig from the Hurlingham Club unveiled the plaque at a ceremony to mark the occasion.
Having outgrown its rented premises at an old grain mill in the town, the decision was made to purchase the two-acre site, which was previously used as a distribution centre by Coca-Cola and has 14,000 square foot of factory space and 1,500 square foot of office space, with ample land for expansion.
The full range of aerators, turf cutters and core collectors was on show for the guests as was the first prototype of the pedestrian aerator built by Managing Director Billy Warke in his garden shed more than 15 years ago. A tour of the new premises followed the presentation where guests were able to watch the company's skilled engineers at work on the production line.
The family-run company began as a lawnmower servicing business in 1972 before diversifying into the hire industry in the mid-eighties. When Billy returned to Ireland after 12 years in Canada working for an oil exploration related manufacturing company, it became CLS Equipment and is now run close to the new factory by Billy's brother, Campbell. It was at CLS that he built his first prototype aerator. Groundsman Industries Ltd was formed in 1990. The new company made their English debut at IOG Saltex in 1992 where their pedestrian aerators were shown for the first time. The tractor mounted aerator model was launched the following year. The Flexblade core collector was launched in 1997 when it received the award for the Best New Sportsturf Product.
Research and development have played a huge part in the company's success and they hold UK, European and US patents for their aerators and core collectors. Turf cutters were introduced into the portfolio in 1999 and patents have been applied for. The new facility has an area dedicated to new product development using the latest CAD technology.

At the ceremony, Billy Warke paid tribute to his staff and to all those who had used and recommended the company's products: "We're delighted with the new facility. It has been a huge boost to morale and given us renewed enthusiasm in the products we make." He also paid a special tribute to Dave Meharg and his staff at Synergy Products Ltd who handle the sales and distribution of the company's products in England who he said had been "instrumental" to the company's success since becoming their distributor in 1992.
