TC DRB Double Drive & TC HYD

Sod Blades

Groundsman Industries manufacture a range of Sod or Turf Cutting blades for 30cm (12”) 35cm (14”) 40cm (16”) 45cm (18”) wide cuts. These blades are manufactured from durable high tensile steel with excellent wear qualities. The patented design of side knives give exceptionally clean cut edges and the cross section of the bottom is formed to reduce bowing for more precision especially in the wider cuts.

Mole Drain Blade

Mole Drain Blades work in the same way as the De-compactor Blade cutting a single slit in the ground. A 16mm (5/8”) diameter bullet point at the lower edge of the blade puts a drain 25cm (5”) under the surface.

De-compactor Blade

De-compactor Blades have been developed by Groundsman Industries to cut a single slit in the ground down to 12cm (5”) depth. The tail of the blade is offset to shift and disturb the soil at the bottom of the slit under the surface to cultivate and relieve compaction. This blade is attached to the rear centre mounting point on the Turf Cutter machine.

Trench Blade

Trench Blades are available to cut trenches from 3cm to 30cm wide and up to 15cm deep. The  profile of the side knives have been specially formed to minimize the surface area and the gap expands behind the cutting edge to enhance the through flow of turf. This is especially helpful for the narrower cuts.This blade can be fitted to the TCDRB and TCHYD machines. A trench blade is available for the TCSRB to a maximum depth of 8cm.

Revetting Blade

The revetting Blade operates the same as a regular sod cutting blade except that it has a center knive or  multiple center knives to cut the turf in half or in ribbons. It is available in all four sod bkade widths but is most common in a 12" (30cm)  blade with a single centre knife. This will produce two strips of turf 6" (15cm) wide which is ideal for building sod walls (revetting) such as around golf bunkers. The depth of cut is adjustable in the same manner as the regular sod cutting blades ie: 0-3" (0-7 CM)

TCSRB Single Drive

The TCDRB Double Drive Turf Cutter and the TCSRB Single Drive Machines have a universal rear blade mounting. The 30cm (12”) and 35cm (14”) width of cut are recommended as standard for the single drive machine. The wider Sod Cutting Blades and the De-compactor and Mole Drain Blades are normally not used.

Wedge Insertion Blade

The Wedge Insertion Blade cuts a single slit in the ground which is separated by the wedge portion of the blade to a width of 32mm (1 1/4") to enable the insertion of Pipe, Wire or Materials down to 5" depth.

This system is used very sucessfully to insert Dripperline Irrigation Pipe in a one pass operation (see 'Reel Insertion Attachment')

The Wedge blade is used only with the TCHYD Hydro Drive machine.

The model TC P RIA Reel Insertion Attachment is available for use on the Groundsman model TCHYD Turf Trencher Multi Cutter. The attachment was developed to insert pipe such as dripper-line irrigation pipe to a depth of up to 15cm in specialist landscaping projects a one pass operation using the patented soil displacement Wedge Blade. The attachment comes complete with a pipe reel and mounting bracket which incorporates an adjustable over-run brake. A vibrating roller closes over the trench on top of the inserted pipe. The whole operation is fast and hardly visible on the surface when complete and can be used for a whole range of applications.
